Montana’s Self-Directed Community First Choice Services and Personal Care Services (CFCS/PCS) program empowers you to hire the caregiver you trust, often a friend or family member.

Who Qualifies
- Must be a Montana Medicaid recipient.
- Must meet the state’s “institutional level of care” requirement; meaning care is needed to avoid nursing home placement.
- Must complete a state screening and meet availability rules.
Who Can Be a Caregiver
Chances are, if you’re here, it means you are already helping with a loved one’s care. Under the CFC program, many family members can be hired as paid caregivers. This allows you to continue providing care while receiving compensation for your time and effort.
